The WNBA’s Indiana Fever paid tribute Sunday to the inspirational basketball player, who lost her battle with brain cancer in April.

An Indiana native, the 19-year-old achieved stardom last year when she fulfilled her dream to play in a college game for Mount St. Joseph college despite the inoperable tumor discovered months earlier.

The Fever put a No. 22 jersey with “Lauren Hill” on the back on a chair at the team’s bench and made Hill’s family members honorary captains for their nationally televised game against the Chicago Sky. Team members also paid tribute to Hill in a video shown in the arena before the game.

The event included several fundraising opportunities, including a silent auction and a charity donation of $300 for each layup made during the game.
