To be fair, it might have been difficult for officials to spot the violation with Wall running at full speed while they themselves were on the move. … OK, no, that looked pretty clear.
We all know officials ignore more obvious violations (unless someone does what Russell Westbrook did), but that merited a call, even if it did happen in the final seconds of a close game.
A turnover might not have made the Knicks’ late-game offense function much better, but then New York wouldn’t have needed 3 to tie. It would have just needed a 2 to win.
