A woman identified as Brandy Leigh Jones, 41, was scheduled to appear Monday at a Dublin, California, courthouse, but she allegedly drove there in another stolen vehicle. The National Insurance Crime Bureau reportedly said the COVID-19 pandemic and economics contributed to the 2020 uptick in stolen vehicles. Criminal charges were filed last week and Kathi Russell, 68, of Cape Coral, Fla., was taken into custody Tuesday on felony charges of stalking, terroristic mischief and intimidation, all for harassing Stewart from March 2016 until last month. According to The Indian Express, the woman—referred to only as “Sajitha”—disappeared from her village in the state of Kerala when she was just 18 years old. The Wisconsin Department of Health Services added 2,367 COVID-19 cases on Tuesday with 8,397 tests coming back negative since Monday. In a 4-3 ruling, the court ruled drop boxes must be allowed for the February 15 primary in order to avoid confusion—as absentee ballots were already mailed out to voters, some with instructions indicating voters could use drop boxes. On Friday, justices also agreed to hear an expedited appeal of the case to determine the legality of the drop boxes for future Wisconsin elections. “Vacating the stay would also likely cause substantial harm to the defendants and the public interest,” the court said in its decision issued Friday evening....
